Laughter yoga is possibly one of the most unique and JOYFUL exercise practices that benefits EVERY body system if done for an extended period of time and with consistency. Laughter Yoga combines laughing “for no reason” with yoga breathing techniques. Dr. Madan Kataria, a medical doctor from India, began Laughter Yoga in a Mumbai Park in 1995. Since then, it has spread to over 65 countries and is endorsed by many prominent physicians and psychiatrists.

Laughter yoga is practiced in a group as exercise, so we gain the social benefits of connecting with others, which also increases the contagiousness of laughter and heightens the mirthful experience. Group practice also allows for prolonged and deep hearty laughter, which is necessary to gain the physiological and psychological benefits. People who are committed to laughter yoga don’t leave their laughter and the opportunity to practice positivity to chance...they are committed and COMPELLED to apply this tool to grow positivity in their lives.
AND SUPPORTED BY SCIENCE? Laughter Yoga is based upon medical research that suggests our bodies can not distinguish between real and fake laughter if we are willing and enthusiastic. As we exercise our diaphragm with laughter yoga and breathing techniques, we open a doorway to achieving greater health and wellness of body, mind, and spirit.
